Eid al-Fitr is a significant celebration in Indonesia, marked by the tradition of serving various types of cookies. However, this practice often leads to food waste, impacting household expenditures and budget management. This study analyzes the financial impact of food waste during Eid al-Fitr, focusing on consumption patterns, consumer spending, and food waste reduction strategies. Using a survey of 138 respondents who celebrate Eid al-Fitr and a quantitative approach, this research identifies key factors contributing to food waste, including excessive purchases influenced by promotions and social norms, as well as inadequate storage. The findings reveal that most respondents experience financial losses due to uneaten and discarded cookies. Food waste reduction strategies, such as better shopping planning, education on proper food storage, and increased awareness of the economic value of food, are crucial steps to minimize financial impact. These findings are expected to provide insights for households in managing their budgets and consumption more wisely during the Eid al-Fitr celebration
