PENGARUH ASAM AMINO TERHADAP PROSES FERMENTASI BIOETANOL DAN ANTIOKSIDAN DENGAN BAHAN BAKU TANDAN KOSONG SAWIT

Bioetanol merupakan salah satu energi alternatif untuk mensubtitusi bahan bakar minyak. Salah satu sumber bahan baku bioetanol adalah tandan kosong kelapa sawit. Pada proses fermentasi dihasilkan limbah fermentasi yang dapat diekstrak menjadi senyawa antioksidan. Pada penelitian ini akan dilihat pengaruh penambahan asam amino terhadap kandungan bioetanol dan senyawa antioksidan yang dihasilkan. Variasi asam amino yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu L-sistein, glisin, dan asam glutamat. Proses fermentasi dilakukan secara Simultaneous Saccharification and Fermentation (SSF), sedangkan ekstraksi senyawa antioksidan dilakukan dengan menggunakan pelarut metanol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar etanol tertinggi pada TKKS tanpa penambahan asam amino sebesar 5,44% dan kadar glutation tertinggi pada TKKS dengan penambahan asam glutamat setelah ekstraksi dengan metanol diperoleh sebesar 290 ppm.
