PENGARUH KONSENTRAT ASAM KLORIDA, KOMPOSISI YEAST DAN WAKTU FERMENTASI DALAM PEMBUATAN BIOETANOL DARI AIR LERI

Beras merupakan kebutuhan pokok primer sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia. Sebelum dikonsumsi, beras dicuci dengan air dua sampai tiga kali. Air bekas cucian beras ini (Air lira) dibuang dan menjadi limbah rumah tangga. Pada penelitian ini, air lira dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku untuk pembuatan bioethanol. Dalam air lira masih mengandung karbohidrat.Tahapan yang dilakukan untuk mendapatkan bioetanol yaitu proses hidrolisa dengan menggunakan asam HCl konsentrasi 10 % dan 20 %, proses netralisasi dengan menggunakan basa NaOH 1 N, dan proses fermentasi dengan menambahkan ragi Saccharomyces cerevisiae dengan variasi 5 gram, 8 gram dan 10 gram, serta pH fermentasi diatur sekitar 4-4,5. Hasil analisa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar bioethanol yang terbesar diperoleh dengan kondisi proses hidrolisa pada konsentrasi asam 20 %, penggunaan ragi sebesar 10 gram dan waktu fermentasi 4 hari menghasilkan kadar bioethanol 2,91 %. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini, semakin besar konsentrasi asam, semakin banyak ragi digunakan dan waktu fermentasi semakin lama menghasilkan kadar bioethanol yang lebih banyak.Downloads
