Abstract

Along with the rapid conversion of agricultural land into non-agricultural land, agricultural resources that need to be prioritized are food resources. The problems formulated in this study are: (1) whether the implementation of agricultural land conversion into housing complies with applicable regulations; (2) how law enforcement is carried out against violations of agricultural land conversion for housing purposes; and (3) what the ideal concept of law enforcement should be to prevent the conversion of agricultural land. This study uses a socio-legal research method involving both primary and secondary data. The findings indicate that there are still violations in the form of illegal building constructions. Law enforcement against violations of agricultural land conversion has not been carried out optimally; administrative sanctions have been applied, but criminal sanctions have never been enforced. In the future, law enforcement should consider the underlying reasons for agricultural land conversion, whether for public interest or business purposes.
