Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in supporting the local economy; however, they continue to face various financial management challenges, such as unsystematic transaction recording, the commingling of personal and business finances, and limitations in calculating the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and business profits. This Community Service (PkM) initiative aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of MSME owners in Garut Regency regarding the implementation of organized and practical financial management. The program employs a participatory "learning-by-doing" approach, incorporating material presentations, interactive discussions, simulations of General Cash Book (BKU) recording, practical COGS calculations, the preparation of simple income statements, and case studies tailored to the participants' specific business conditions. Evaluation is conducted through observation, discussion, and an assessment of the participants' ability to comprehend and apply the material provided. The results indicate an improvement in participants' understanding and skills regarding separating personal and business finances, recording cash inflows and outflows, identifying costs, calculating COGS, and preparing simple income statements. Participants demonstrated active engagement throughout the training and were able to identify financial issues encountered in their business operations. This activity contributes to strengthening the managerial competence of MSME owners and encourages the adoption of financial management practices that are more organized, professional, and sustainable.
