Abstract

Wages are labors’ rights that received and expressed in the form of money in return from employers to the workers who are determined and paid according to a work agreement, settlement or law regulations, including allowances for workers and their families on an agreement and/or services that have been or will be conducted. Employers are required to fulfill the rights of their workesrs including giving wages on – time. Nevertheless, employers sometimes necglecting it and make their workers experienced delays in paying wages and they get a significant impact on it. Regarding the late payment of wages, workers have legal protections regulated in Article 88A Paragraph 3 of Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Employment and Article 55 paragraph 1 of Government Regulation Number 36 of 2021, thereafter there are Criminal Sanction and fines for employers who violated them. This research aims to find out whether there are consequences and legal protections related to this problem and how it is regulated. The research method used in this study is a normative legal research method in which the source of the data used is obtained based on primary legal materials, such as Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Employment and secondary legal materials in the form of books and legal journals. The outputs targeted in this research are mandatory outputs in the form of accredited national journals.
