DAMPAK PENGEMBANGAN PARIWISATA MELALUI TRADISI SPIRITUAL TERHADAP KONDISI EKONOMI MASYARAKAT TANA TORAJA

Abstract

This reseach used the qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, a methode that reveals the fact and data collected, observations, and questionnaries that are connected to one and then be extracted meaning, substance, and concepts contained. Tana toraja is one of areas of the 23 districts/cities in the province of south sulawesi which has natural beauty and spiritual tradition are unique and interesting. Tana Toraja is has always visited by tourists both domestic and foreign tourist. But the dvelopment of tourism trough spiritual traditions tha are unique to the area of tana toraja is not able to provide a positive impact on the economic conditions of society. The finding in this researh is base on data collection and observation, that the uniqueness of the spiritual traditions which constitute a distinctive culture in tana toraja area area famous throughout the foreign countries not to contribute to the economy of local society. Because the life of the community in all dimensions governed by ancestral traditions that bind the community of Tana Toraja. This spiritual traditions give moral burden on society which ultimately affect the backwardness in economic conditions of local communities.
