A SISTEM PENUNJANG KEPUTUSAN MENENTUKAN SISWA BERPRESTASI BERDASARKAN EVALUASI AKADEMIK DAN NON-AKADEMIK MENGGUNAKAN METODE SIMPLE MULTI-ATTRIBUTE RATING (SMART)
Abstract
The main problem in determining outstanding students at SD Negeri Ragamukti is the system which is still manual, ineffective, and tends to be subjective. This is caused by the lack of a regular mechanism to objectively combine academic aspects (Report Card Grades) and non-academic aspects (discipline, active participation in extracurricular activities such as scouting, angklung, and futsal). This research proposes the creation of a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) (using PHP and MySQL) to automate the evaluation process. The method applied is the Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique (SMART). The choise of the SMART method is based on its simplicity in calculation, clarity in criteria weighting, and its ability to convert qualitative values into standardized utility values (0-100) for ranking alternatives. The implementation of the DSS using the SMART method has successfully created a system that can process multi-criteria data and produce student rankings quickly and objectively. This system successfully incorporates the school’s preference weights for both academic and non-academic criteria. Simulation results indicate that students who perform well overall (academically and non-academically) will obtain the highest final score, im accordance with the determined priorities. The use of the SMART method in the DSS proves effective as a valid and transparent decision-making tool, reducing subjective bias, and increasing the school’s efficiency and accountability in selecting outstanding students.
