IMPLEMENTASI METODE RULE BASED DAN DECISION TREE PADA SISTEM PAKAR REKOMENDASI TOPIK PENELITIAN MAHASISWA
Abstract
Pemilihan topik penelitian sering menjadi kendala utama bagi mahasiswa tingkat akhir, terutama karena ketidaksesuaian antara minat pribadi dan kemampuan akademik yang dimiliki. Kondisi ini tidak hanya memengaruhi motivasi belajar, tetapi juga berdampak langsung pada kelancaran proses penyelesaian studi. Selain itu, keterbatasan akses terhadap panduan yang bersifat personal dan sistematis turut memperparah kesulitan mahasiswa dalam menentukan topik yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan sistem pakar berbasis web yang mampu memberikan rekomendasi topik penelitian secara akurat, adaptif, dan personal sesuai dengan karakteristik masing-masing mahasiswa. Sistem yang dikembangkan mengintegrasikan metode Rule-Based System untuk memetakan preferensi kualitatif mahasiswa berdasarkan minat bidang, serta algoritma Decision Tree untuk mengklasifikasikan kelayakan topik berdasarkan data kuantitatif seperti nilai mata kuliah inti. Dengan mengombinasikan kedua metode tersebut, sistem diharapkan mampu menghasilkan proses inferensi yang lebih komprehensif dan seimbang antara aspek subjektif dan objektif. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan menunjukkan bahwa penggabungan metode Rule-Based System dan Decision Tree dapat meningkatkan akurasi rekomendasi topik penelitian.
