Perancangan Aplikasi Layanan Perbaikan Kendaraan Darurat Berdasarkan Jarak Terpendek Menggunakan Algoritma A-Star Berbasis Android Mobile
Abstract
High community mobility has made vehicles such as motorcycles and cars essential transportation tools for supporting daily activities. However, the increasing number of vehicles also increases the risk of unexpected vehicle breakdowns during travel, which often makes it difficult for drivers to quickly find the nearest repair shop or mechanic, especially in unfamiliar locations. This study aims to design an Android-based emergency vehicle repair service application that helps drivers find the nearest mechanic efficiently, provides a communication platform between drivers and mechanics, and implements the A-Star algorithm to determine the shortest route to the user’s location. The research methods used in this study include observation, interviews, and literature review to collect relevant data for system development. The results show that the developed application is able to provide accurate and real-time information about the nearest mechanics based on the user’s current location. The system also provides service booking features, mechanic tracking, and direct communication between drivers and mechanics, allowing better coordination between both parties. Furthermore, the implementation of the A-Star algorithm successfully determines the shortest route for mechanics to reach the driver’s location, thereby reducing travel time. Therefore, the developed application can serve as an effective solution to help drivers obtain vehicle repair services more quickly, efficiently, and responsively.
