Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve environmental quality and community welfare in Bunar Village through an industrial engineering approach to waste management. Key issues included increasing household waste, low waste segregation awareness, limited facilities, and underutilized economic potential of waste. Activities involved socialization, training, simulation, and mentoring on the 3R concept, waste sorting, composting, and community-based waste banks. Using participatory and educational methods, the program enhanced community understanding of waste impacts and practical management. Results showed improved knowledge, behavior change, and collective awareness, encouraging a structured and sustainable waste system with potential economic benefits from compost and recyclable materials.
