ABSTRACT
Limited access to industry-standard equipment among young technicians in Cisauk remains a significant challenge in carrying out electronic repair and maintenance activities. The use of low-cost conventional soldering irons generally provides poor temperature stability, increasing the risk of damage to heat-sensitive microelectronic components. Meanwhile, discarded computer Power Supply Units (PSUs) have not been optimally utilized as valuable resources. This Community Service Program (PkM) aimed to transfer appropriate technology by providing training on converting discarded PSUs into high-performance T12-based soldering stations. The implementation method consisted of socialization, theoretical instruction on power electronics, hands-on assembly workshops, and temperature testing and calibration of the assembled devices. The results demonstrated an 87% improvement in participants' technical understanding. In addition, the participants successfully assembled soldering stations capable of reaching an operating temperature of 350 °C within an average of 9.42 seconds while maintaining good temperature stability. The program also promoted the implementation of a circular economy concept through the reuse of electronic waste into value-added technical equipment. Therefore, this program not only enhanced the participants' technical competencies but also has the potential to reduce equipment procurement costs by approximately 60%, thereby supporting higher productivity in electronic repair and maintenance activities.
