Abstract

Academic stress is a prevalent issue among university students, potentially impacting their academic performance and overall well-being. This study aims to examine the roles of mindfulness and social support in managing stress among students. A quantitative approach was utilized, involving a survey of 200 students from Universitas Indonesia. Instruments employed included the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS), and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Multiple regression analysis revealed that mindfulness (β = 0.45, p < 0.01) and social support (β = 0.32, p < 0.01) significantly predicted improved stress management, with R² = 0.58. These findings underscore the importance of mindfulness-based interventions and enhanced social support networks to mitigate student stress. Practical implications include the development of campus counseling programs.
