Penggunaan Aplikasi Duolingo sebagai Media Pembelajaran untuk Memperkaya Kosakata Bahasa Inggris

Abstract

English is an international language so learning English in this modern era is urgent and should be started from an early age because having English skills can provide benefits to a person such as opening wider access to information, knowledge, education, careers both nationally and internationally. In fact, many learners of this language have difficulties in speaking, writing, listening, reading or enriching English vocabulary. This is caused by several things such as low confidence, fear of making mistakes, not having a partner to practice with, difficulty in pronouncing and memorizing vocabulary, difficulty in understanding grammar, etc. The purpose of this service society (PKM) is to provide solutions to these problems by using duolingo application as a learning media which more focus on vocabulary enrichment and sentence construction. Duolingo application is an unpaid application with complete material, simple and attractive features that make it easier for students to learn both independently and together. This activity was held in SDN Cirendeu 02. The results of this PKM are that students can enrich their English vocabularies and arrange them into correct sentences. In addition, students can also read and pronounce the vocabularies correctly. It means that the goals of PKM are achieved well. Through this activity, the lecturers and students of the English Literature department Pamulang University are able to help and produce other useful programs for the wider community.
