PENINGKATAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN PUISI

Abstract

This activity aims to strengthen character building in poetry learning at Madrasah Aliyah Madinatun Najjah, South Tangerang. This activity is included in the third dimension of character building, namely the dimension of taste (aesthetics). Individuals who have moral integrity, a sense of art, and culture. Community service activities are carried out at MA Madinatun Najjah. This activity was carried out by 3 lecturers and 5 students of the Indonesian Literature Study Program, at Pamulang University. The number of participants to increase the ability to appreciate poetry is 30 people. This activity is carried out on May 24, 2022 - June 1, 2022. This activity consists of three stages, namely the preparation and debriefing stage, the implementation of the activity, and the activity evaluation stage. Based on the activity observation sheets and student worksheets, it can be concluded from the 30 students who participated in this activity, 20 students already understood the concept of character education and were able to understand the values of character education contained in a poem. Furthermore,  10 students already understand the concept of character education but have not been able to analyze the values of character education in a poem. influenced by the difficulty factor in understanding the meaning of the diction used by the author of the poem
