Conflicts of interest in Indonesia regarding the working class, demands for social justice, and the distribution of wealth are complex and multifaceted issues. Along with economic development and industrialization, the working class in Indonesia faces challenges such as low wages, poor working conditions, and limited access to social security. Their demands for social justice often clash with the interests of capital owners and political elites. In this research, several case examples will be analyzed, including minimum wage conflicts, the use of contract labor, mining and environmental conflicts, and agrarian conflicts. Each example reflects the differences in interests between the working class, which demands basic rights and social protection, and the owners of capital, who prioritize profits and economic growth. By analyzing these dynamics, this research aims to provide a deeper understanding of the challenges facing the working class in Indonesia and the importance of developing policies that are responsive to their needs. It is hoped that the results of this research can become a basis for formulating more inclusive and sustainable strategies in dealing with conflicts of interest in the future. The results show that although both eras had economic development goals, differences in power structures and behavior of political elites resulted in significant outcomes in terms of sustainable economic growth, equitable development, and overall quality of development. This study makes an important contribution to understanding the complexity of the relationship between politics and economics in the context of Indonesian development, especially the crucial role of political elites in shaping the direction and outcomes of development.
