Abstract

Technological advancements have significantly transformed the world of education in Indonesia, including learning practices and the management of information resources, such as libraries. One evidence of this progress is the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI functions not only as a technological innovation but also plays a role in enhancing learning effectiveness, personalizing teaching materials, improving assessment quality, boosting digital literacy, and strengthening information services and learning resources through libraries. Despite its great potential, the utilization of AI in education and libraries still faces various challenges, including limited technological infrastructure, low digital and AI literacy, as well as ethical and data privacy issues. This study aims to describe the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the learning process and library services in Indonesia based on previous research findings, and to identify AI-supported learning models and strategies. This research is a literature study of open-access scientific articles related to the use of AI in learning and libraries. Data were collected through document analysis of relevant journal articles, which were then analyzed based on the focus of AI utilization, its benefits, and its implementation challenges. The results show that AI has been utilized in various aspects of learning and library services, such as learning assessment, differentiated learning, learning analytics, information service automation, virtual reference services, and digital information retrieval and dissemination. Nevertheless, the implementation of AI in Indonesia remains limited and has not been holistically integrated between learning and libraries. Therefore, support for educational policies, competency development for educators and librarians, and equitable access to technology are required so that AI can become a strategic component in building innovative, inclusive, and sustainable education in Indonesia.
