The focus and scope of Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia encompass research findings related to Waste Management, Separation Processes, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Food and Material Technology, Nanoparticles, and Biotechnology.
Peer Review Process
Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia maintains the following review policy:
- Every submitted manuscript will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin. The maximum allowable similarity index is 20%. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 25% will be automatically rejected.
- Each submitted manuscript will undergo a review process by at least 2 (two) reviewers.
- The review process employs a double-blind peer review system.
- During the review process, peer reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its novelty, scientific impact, conclusions, and cited references.
Publication Frequency
Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia Pamulang University is published by Unpam Press and is issued biannually in January and July.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
This journal is open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or / institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to full text articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or author. This is in accordance with Budapest Open Access Initiative


Publication Ethics
This statement outlines the ethical standards expected of all parties involved in the publication process of Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia, managed by the Chemical Engineering Study Program, including authors, editors, and reviewers.
This statement is based on the standards of COPE's Best Practice.
1. Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher, and the society.
Unpam Press, as the publisher of Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia, takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing extremely seriously and we recognize our ethical and other responsibilities. Unpam Press is committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint, or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions.
2. Publication Decisions
Before publication in Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia (both online and in print), the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The Editor-in-Chief may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The Editor-in-Chief may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision. The process involves manuscript submission, editorial screening, reviewer evaluation, layout editing, and plagiarism/copyright checks. These steps are under the supervision of the Editor-in-Chief and authorized Editors, resulting in the final publication decision for Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia.
3. Non-Discrimination (Fair Play)
In every publication process of Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia, the editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors. This is to uphold the publication ethics of Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia, specifically non-discrimination.
4. Confidentiality
Any manuscript published in Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia is treated with strict confidentiality regarding its information. The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
5. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's or reviewer's own research without the express written consent of the author.
Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers
1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper. Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia employs a blind review process, where the results from reviewers are communicated back to the authors to enhance the quality of their research.
2. Promptness
Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia prioritizes the timeliness of publication and information for authors. Every submitted manuscript is processed and communicated to authors and reviewers according to established procedures. If a selected reviewer cannot perform their duties on time, the editor will decide to replace them with another qualified reviewer to ensure the publication schedule remains consistent.
3. Confidentiality
Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia is managed by Unpam Press with the assistance of expert editors and reviewers. Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Given the blind review system, the content of the manuscript can only be discussed with the editor and the author.
4. Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Editors and reviewers are required to evaluate manuscripts based on established standards. However, personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments and must remain consistent in their decisions and recommendations to the editors and authors.
5. Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. Reviewers should also verify the validity and currency of the sources used.
6. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
Duties and Responsibilities of Authors
1. Reporting Standards
Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.
2. Data Access and Retention
Authors may be asked to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review and should be prepared to provide public access to such data. Authors must provide data and information related to the manuscript on time to the editor and reviewers to facilitate manuscript improvement according to the rules of Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Kimia.
3. Originality and Plagiarism
The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others, that this has been appropriately cited or quoted. If citation issues or plagiarism are found in the author's work, the manuscript will be automatically rejected.
4. Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication
An author should not generally publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
5. Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
6. Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. The corresponding author has the responsibility to keep co-authors posted with the review process. If accepted, all authors are required to provide a signed statement that the research work is their original research work.
7. Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
If the work involves chemicals, procedures, or equipment that have any unusual hazards inherent in their use, the author must clearly identify these in the manuscript.
8. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
9. Fundamental Errors in Published Works
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
Author Fees
This journal charges the following author fees.
Article Publication: 500.000 (IDR)
If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publications costs.

3. Starting from Volume 6, Number 1, several additional reviewers were added to the review board.
4. Starting from Volume 6, Number 1, the article template was updated to a new version. (before), (new version).
5. Due to high demand, starting from Volume 10, Number 1 (2026), the number of published articles increased from 7 to 9 articles per issue.
