Open Access Policy

I-MARKED (International Journal of Marketing Studies and Environments of Digital Business) is a fully open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal. In accordance with internationally recognized open-access principles and applicable Indonesian regulations, all articles published by I-MARKED are made immediately and permanently available worldwide, free of charge, without subscription fees, paywalls, or embargo periods.

Readers may access the full text of all published articles without financial barriers. I-MARKED is committed to promoting broad dissemination, accessibility, and responsible reuse of scholarly knowledge.

1. Open Access Principles

I-MARKED supports the fundamental principles of open access as articulated in internationally recognized declarations and initiatives, including:

  • Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI)
  • Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities
  • Bethesda Statement on Open Access Publishing

Consistent with these principles, users are provided free and continuous access to the published full text of articles. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and otherwise use the published work in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license and with appropriate attribution.

2. Compliance with Indonesian Legal and Regulatory Frameworks

I-MARKED operates in accordance with applicable Indonesian laws, regulations, and national standards governing scientific publishing, research, higher education, copyright, and scholarly communication.

The journal recognizes, where applicable, the following legal and regulatory frameworks:

  • Law No. 11 of 2019 on the National System of Science and Technology (Undang-Undang Sistem Nasional Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi / UU Sisnas Iptek): I-MARKED supports the dissemination and utilization of scientific knowledge and research outputs in accordance with applicable provisions concerning scientific communication and access to knowledge.
  • Law No. 28 of 2014 on Copyright (Undang-Undang Hak Cipta): Open access publication is implemented while respecting and protecting the moral and economic rights of authors and other copyright holders.
  • Regulations and standards concerning scientific journal accreditation and management: I-MARKED seeks to comply with applicable national requirements for scientific journal governance, editorial transparency, peer review, metadata management, and public access to scholarly publications.
  • National scholarly information and repository infrastructure: Where applicable, I-MARKED supports metadata dissemination and interoperability with national scholarly information systems and repositories, including GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital) and RAMA Repository, in accordance with their respective technical and administrative requirements.

3. Licensing Terms

All articles published by I-MARKED are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under the CC BY 4.0 license:

  • Share: Users may copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt: Users may remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes.
  • Attribution: Users must provide appropriate credit to the original author(s), acknowledge I-MARKED as the original publication venue, provide a link to the license, and indicate whether any changes were made.

Reuse must comply with the terms and conditions of the applicable Creative Commons license and must not misrepresent the original work or its authors.

4. Author Rights, Copyright, and Self-Archiving

Copyright Retention

Authors retain copyright to their published work, subject to the rights granted to the journal for publication and dissemination.

First Publication Rights

Authors grant I-MARKED and Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) Universitas Pamulang the right of first publication of the article under the CC BY 4.0 license.

Self-Archiving Policy

Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit and share their work in appropriate repositories and scholarly platforms, subject to applicable institutional, legal, and platform requirements.

Authors may deposit the following versions where permitted:

  • Submitted Version / Preprint
  • Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM)
  • Version of Record (VoR)

Authors may use institutional repositories, national repositories such as GARUDA/RAMA, and appropriate scholarly communication platforms. When depositing or sharing a published article, authors should provide complete bibliographic information, acknowledge I-MARKED as the original publication venue, and include the article's persistent Crossref DOI, where available.

5. Digital Archiving and Long-Term Preservation

I-MARKED is committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility and preservation of its published scholarly content. The journal supports digital preservation mechanisms designed to reduce the risk of permanent content loss and broken links.

The journal utilizes or supports the following preservation and persistent-identification mechanisms:

  • Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN): Digital preservation of journal content through the PKP preservation infrastructure, where available and applicable.
  • Crossref Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs): Persistent identifiers that facilitate long-term discovery and access to published articles.
  • National Scholarly Information Systems: Metadata dissemination and integration with relevant national indexing and information systems, including GARUDA and SINTA, subject to applicable system requirements.

Through these mechanisms, I-MARKED aims to maintain reliable, persistent, and long-term access to its scholarly publications.

6. Access and Reuse

All published articles are freely accessible online immediately upon publication. Readers do not need to register, subscribe, or pay a fee to access the full text.

Users are encouraged to read, share, cite, and reuse published research in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license. Proper attribution to the original authors and I-MARKED as the publication venue is required for all permitted forms of reuse.
