Abstract

Legal counseling on social media wisdom is an educational program for the public, especially teenagers and vulnerable groups, to avoid violating Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (UU ITE), which regulates the management of electronic information including on social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp . This activity highlights the legal risks of content such as defamation (Article 27 paragraph 3), hate speech (Article 28 paragraph 2), the spread of hoax news , and the misuse of personal data, which often result in criminal sanctions up to imprisonment. Through an interactive approach in the form of presentations, discussions, case simulations, and the distribution of materials, participants are equipped with digital literacy to behave wisely: verifying information, respecting the privacy of others, and utilizing social media for positive things such as education and social collaboration. The main objective of this outreach is to increase legal awareness so that social media users do not get caught in criminal cases due to a lack of understanding of the limits of freedom of expression, while promoting the use of digital platforms that are safe, ethical, and beneficial to society. The impact includes a decrease in cases of violations of the ITE Law among participants, as seen in activities in schools and sub-districts, where participants are able to identify dangerous content and apply wise practices in everyday life. This kind of program supports the government's efforts in creating a healthy digital ecosystem in Indonesia. The use of social media has become an important part of the social life of modern society, including in the YASBI environment, Rawabuntu Sub-district , South Tangerang. However , the use of social media that is not wise potential cause various problem significant legal , social , and ethical implications . By therefore , counseling law with a wise theme socializing media that associated with Constitution Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions Law (ITE Law) is very required as effort education and prevention .
