SOSIALISASI PENDIDIKAN SEKS DAN PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR NEGERI DI KABUPATEN MALANG

Abstract

Sex education for elementary school-aged children is often considered taboo, creating obstacles for teachers and parents in providing proper understanding. However, elementary school is a crucial phase of cognitive and emotional development, where children begin to explore their bodies and experience the onset of puberty. This community service program aims to promote sex education as a way to build character and protect themselves in elementary school students. The implementation method is carried out through discussions and outreach activities involving the principal, teachers, parents, and students. The outreach material includes an introduction to body parts, how to maintain personal hygiene and safety, social etiquette, and the instilling of politeness. The results of the community service program show very positive understanding, with the majority of students dominating the Moderate to Very High categories. In detail, as many as 44.26% (27 students) were in the medium category, 29.51% (18 students) in the high category, and 22.95% (14 students) achieved the very high category with optimal scores ranging from 91 to 100. There were only 3.28% (2 students) who were in the low category, and no students were in the very low category. With a fairly high overall average score of 84.65, these data confirm that interventions through socialization of sex education and character building were able to be accepted evenly and effectively by elementary school students in Malang Regency.
