PELATIHAN INTERNET OF THINGS BERBASIS ESP32 MELALUI PROJECT-BASED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN LITERASI DIGITAL SISWA MA DA’IL KHAIRAAT
Abstract
As a non-computer religious-based school, MA Da’il Khairaat faces major constraints, including limited access to development hardware and the absence of applied technology practical modules. This community service activity aims to introduce basic Internet of Things (IoT) literacy and skills to grade XII students using a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach. The implementation method involved an intensive workshop consisting of basic theory presentation, an integrated system demonstration with Grafana dashboard visualization, as well as evaluation through interactive discussions and performance-based sampling. This activity was attended by 30 grade XII students of MA Da’il Khairaat. The evaluation results showed active responses during the Q&A session, and 6 selected non-IT representative students successfully demonstrated the hands-on assembly of the ESP32-DHT22 prototype until the sensor data was read in real-time on the Grafana dashboard. The implication of this activity is that the PjBL model combined with the demonstration method is feasible as an alternative for introducing applied technology in non-technical secondary schools to narrow the digital divide.
