PELATIHAN PENGGUNAAN AI BERBASIS NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING UNTUK PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA ASING SISWA

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology based on Natural Language Processing (NLP) has created new opportunities to improve the effectiveness of foreign language learning. However, the utilization of AI technology in the learning process is still not optimal due to students’ limited knowledge and skills in using various AI-based applications appropriately and responsibly. This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to improve students’ understanding and abilities in utilizing AI-based NLP technology as a supporting medium for foreign language learning. The implementation methods of this activity include preparation, material delivery, demonstration of AI application usage, hands-on practice, and evaluation of training outcomes. The materials provided include an introduction to AI and NLP concepts, the utilization of chatbots and virtual assistants for conversation practice, the use of AI to improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, as well as the ethics of AI usage in education. The results of the activity show that participants were able to understand the basic concepts of AI-based NLP and utilize various AI platforms to support foreign language learning in a more interactive, independent, and effective way. In addition, the activity increased students’ learning motivation and their ability to access relevant digital learning resources. This program is expected to become an initial step in supporting technology-based educational transformation and improving students’ foreign language competencies in the digital era.
