PELATIHAN PEMANFAATAN DAN ETIKA PENGGUNAAN CHATBOT DALAM LINGKUNGAN BELAJAR SISWA SMP DI ERA DIGITAL
Abstract
The development of artificial intelligence technology, particularly chatbots, presents both opportunities and challenges for the learning environment of junior high school students. These challenges include the increased risk of plagiarism, poor ability to verify information or recognize AI hallucinations, inadequate prompt-writing skills, and suboptimal awareness of personal data privacy. Therefore, this Community Service (PKM) activity aims to improve AI literacy, understanding of digital ethics, and students' technical skills in utilizing chatbots purely as learning aids, not as a substitute for thinking.
This activity was conducted at the Cahaya Kasih Al-Quran Education Park using a method of material delivery, hands-on practice, simulations, discussions, and mentoring. Evaluation of the program's effectiveness was measured using pre- and post-test instruments. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in students' cognitive understanding, with an average increase of 48.4%. More specifically, students' understanding of academic integrity increased from 45% to 85%, their ability to verify AI hallucinations increased from 30% to 78%, and their prompt technique skills experienced the highest increase from 25% to 82%. In conclusion, this training program is categorized as exceptionally effective in supporting the creation of a critical, safe, honest, and ethical digital learning culture and environment for junior high school students.
