Abstract: Incinerating waste can heat water to produce steam, which drives a turbine. The turbine is coupled with a generator to produce electricity. This study aims to determine the effect of varying boiler pipe temperatures on water temperature and enthalpy rise along the pipe, as well as the effect of pipe temperature variations on the change in vapor fraction along the pipe after the boiling point is reached. The study employs a simulation using the Euler method based on measured data. An 18 m long boiler pipe is installed inside the incinerator's combustion chamber to maximize heat absorption. One end of the pipe is connected to a water tank equipped with a valve and a flow meter, while the other end connects to a collection reservoir. Pipe temperatures and internal water temperatures are measured during combustion with the water flow rate set at 7 L/min. The results indicate that higher boiler pipe temperatures lead to higher water temperatures within the pipe. At a boiler pipe temperature of 200 °C, the water reaches its boiling point at a pipe length of 1.82 m; at 210 °C, it reaches the boiling point at 1.72 m; and at 220 °C, it reaches the boiling point at 1.61 m. Higher boiler pipe temperatures result in a greater rise in water enthalpy. At a pipe length of 18 m, the enthalpy values of the water exiting the pipe are 551.55 kJ/kg, 565.01 kJ/kg, and 583.76 kJ/kg for boiler pipe temperatures of 200 °C, 210 °C, and 220 °C, respectively. Furthermore, higher pipe temperatures result in a larger vapor fraction forming after boiling occurs. At a pipe length of 18 m, the vapor fraction formed at a pipe temperature of 200 °C is 0.0595 (5.95%); at 210 °C, it is 0.0655 (6.55%); and at 220 °C, it is 0.0726 (7.26%). Thus, it can be concluded that the higher the boiler pipe temperature, the higher the temperature of the water inside the pipe, the greater the enthalpy rise, and the larger the fraction of water vapor formed after boiling.
