Satu Berita Beraneka Layar: Peluang dan Tantangan Redaksi Pemberitaan di Era Konvergensi Media

Konvergensi media menjadi strategi perusahaan media untuk bertahan hidup dan sebagai upaya adaptasi menghadapi teknologi media baru atau digital. Penelitian ini ingin melihat bagaimana upaya pengembangan media tradisional satu platform menuju media multi platform, termasuk strategi yang dilakukan.Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi beberapa tantangan dan peluang dari sisi manajemen dan bisnis pada ruang-ruang redaksi MNC Media sebagai salah satu grup media terbesar di Indonesia. Transisi menuju konvergensi media telah merngubah tidak hanya proses output-input industry media, namun juga mengkonfigurasi ulang hal-hal yang mendasar seperti struktur organisasi dan pola kerja. Strategi multiplatform mendorongproduksi besar-besaran dalam volume konten media bagi semua ruang redaksi, karena ada ceruk pasar baru yang terbentuk akibat konvergensi media. Sementara di sisi lain, strategi integrasi beberapa unit bisnis di MNC Group memungkinkan industry media meningkatkan efisiensi, sehingga anggaran produksi organisasi media dibatasi. Penelitian dengan pendekatan kualitatif ini secara kritis mempertanyakan bagaimana transisi ke media multiplatform berhasil meningkatkan produksi konten yang didistribusikan ke banyak outlet, untuk dapat meningkatkan profit, di sisi lain adaptasi dalam organisasi juga berjalan baik. Sekaligus mempertanyakan implikasinya dalam upaya mempertahankan konten dan komitmen serta kebijakan perusahaan yang terus berubah dalam menerapkan strategi multiplatform.
