Abstract

The socio-cultural changes that have taken place along with the rapid development of digital technology have had a major impact on various aspects of life, including the world of education. This transformation has an impact on communication patterns, social interactions, and value systems that develop in society, which directly affect the process and objectives of education. This article aims to critically examine how socio-cultural changes shape the dynamics of education in the digital era, by highlighting the challenges and opportunities that arise. The method used is a literature review with a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of the study show that education in the digital era has experienced a paradigm shift, both in learning methods, the role of teachers, and the character of students. On the one hand, digitalization opens up wide access to information and encourages learning innovation. However, on the other hand, challenges arise such as the degradation of cultural values, the tendency towards individualism, and the digital divide between regions. Therefore, education must be able to adapt to these changes through contextual strategies rooted in local wisdom values.
