Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi terlaksananya pengawasan Ombudsman dalam mengawasi pelayanan publik yang diberikan oleh Dinas Sosial di Kota Lubuklinggau serta faktor-faktor yang menghambat efektivitas pengawasan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan mengumpulkan data melalui observasi wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Ombudsman Perwakilan Sumatera Selatan menerima berbagai laporan dari masyarakat terkait praktik maladministrasi dalam pelayanan dan lain-lain. Masyarakat memiliki hak untuk melaporkan keluhan mereka, namun sering kali tidak mau melapor karena kurangnya pengetahuan tentang Ombudsman dan prosedur pelaporan. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya kualitas pelayanan publik yang baik untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat, serta perlunya sosialisasi yang lebih baik mengenai peran Ombudsman agar masyarakat lebih sadar akan hak-hak mereka dalam mendapatkan pelayanan yang berkualitas
