Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics
To maintain the integrity and quality of JCIA, the following principles of Publication Ethics are strictly adhered to:
As Editors:
- JCIA practices a double-blind peer-review process and maximizes effort to prevent any conflict of interests between the authors, the editors, and the reviewers.
- JCIA is committed to using plagiarism detecting software to screen submitted papers and reserves the right to reject any paper with a high similarity score.
- Ensures that the confidentiality of all information related to the submitted papers is upheld.
- Editors evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or the political philosophy of the authors.
- The editor must ensure that each manuscript is initially evaluated by the editor for originality.
- The editor should organize and use peer reviews fairly and wisely.
- Editors should explain their peer review processes in the information for authors and also indicate which parts of the journal are peer-reviewed.
- The editor should use appropriate peer reviewers for papers that are considered for publication by selecting people with sufficient expertise and avoiding those with conflicts of interest.
As Authors:
- Only original works are submitted. Any plagiarism detected would lead to outright rejection.
- The submitted papers are not concurrently submitted to other journals.
- The use of all works from other sources should be acknowledged by appropriate citation and referencing.
- Any fundamental and significant error discovered in the published work must be immediately communicated to the journal editor.
- All possible conflicts of interest must be disclosed during the submission of the first draft.
- The agreement shall be given to transfer the copyright of the publication before submitting the article.
- The author's reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance.
As Reviewers:
- All information related to the submitted papers must be kept confidential.
- Any detection of copyright infringement and plagiarism on the author’s side must be promptly communicated to the editor.
- All submitted papers shall be reviewed fairly and objectively.
- Reviewers who feel unqualified to review a submitted article or are aware of any conflict of interest, which may influence the quality of the review, should promptly notify the editor to be excluded from that particular assignment.
