Abstract

Tujuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan strategi bagi Kampung Cabe untuk membangun place branding sebagai daerah tujuan wisata. Mengingat desa ini selalu diasosiasikan sebagai desa miskin.

Metode. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan eksploratori. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, penyebaran kuesioner dan studi literatur pada berbagai sumber ilmiah.

Hasil. Dari penelitian ini dapat dirumuskan bahwa terdapat tiga tahapan yang harus dilakukan untuk membangun place branding, yaitu pertama mendefinisikan kembali identitas pada nilai dan produk yang ingin disampaikan, meningkatkan keterlibatan masyarakat, dan membangun kemitraan pentahelix antara pemerintah, masyarakat, akademisi, pelaku usaha, dan media masa

Implikasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat dalam pengembangan ilmu manajemen pemasaran, khususnya dalam mengembangkan branding daerah tujuan wisata yang memiliki latar belakang kurang beruntung.
