TRAINING ON THE POTENTIAL OF BETEL NUT PLANTS AS A HAND SANITIZER IN AN EFFORT TO WARD OFF THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 AT DARUL ARQAM MUHAMMADIYAH, SERANG CITY, BANTEN

Abstract

Cleaning hands is one of the activities that is required especially during the current pandemic, in order to reduce infections from microbes. One convenient option is to use a hand sanitizer. In this community service programme, training in making hand sanitizer made from natural ingredients is carried out, the aim is to provide knowledge about the potential of betel leaves (Piper betle Linn) as a basic ingredient for hand sanitizer, procedures for making hand sanitizer, and increase the skills of the Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School community in Serang City in making hand sanitizer. The method used was a workshop agenda, where the activity was divided into the presentation and practice of making hand sanitisers. The results of the activity went well, the community of Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School Serang City gained knowledge and direct experience in recognising the potential of betel leaves and how to make hand sanitizer independently.
