Focus and Scope

The INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science aims to publish articles that show high levels of theoretical insight or empirical analytic work and gives preference to articles that demonstrate engagement on the key issues that face Asian education. The INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science invites all scholars, researchers, and students to contribute the result of their studies and researches in the areas related to management.

The focus of the INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science is on all levels, stages, and processes of management, which covers library research, quantitative research, qualitative research, or development research with various perspectives scope such as:

  • Management of education
  • Social management
  • Business management
  • Management Curriculum,
  • Management Philosophy,
  • Management Technology

Every year, after the Annual Editorial meeting, the INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science also published the grand issues and theme through an announcement to all scholars, researchers, and students to give a discourse to be studied and analyze in order to produce a scientific article impacting to management development.

While it is intended that the INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science will remain academic, but the readers are considered to be educational generalists, and articles that are of interest to such readers will receive preference.

Peer Review Process

Responsibility of Peer Reviewer

The peer reviewer is responsible for critiquing by reading and evaluating manuscripts in the field of expertise, then giving constructive advice and honest feedback to the author of the article submitted. Peer reviewers, discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the article, how to increase the strength and quality of the paper, and evaluate the relevance and authenticity of the manuscript.

Before reviewing, please note the following:

  1. Is the article requested to be reviewed following your expertise? If you receive a script that covers the topics that are not appropriate areas of your knowledge, please notify the editor as soon as possible. Please recommend an alternative reviewer.

  2. Do you have the time to review this paper? The review process must be completed within two weeks. If you agree and require a more extended period, notify the editor as soon as possible, or suggest an alternative reviewer.

  3. Is there any potential conflict of interest? Meanwhile, conflicts of interest will not disqualify you as a reviewer, disclose all conflicts of interest to the editor before reviewing. If you have any questions about potential conflicts of interest, do not hesitate to contact the editorial office.

Review Process

When reviewing the article, please consider the following:

  1. Title: is it clearly illustrating the article?
  2. Abstract: does it reflect the contents of the article?
  3. Introduction: does it describe the accuracy of matters submitted by the author and clearly state the problem being considered? Typically, the introduction should summarize the context of the relevant research, and explain the findings of the research or other results, if any, offered for discussion. This research should explain the experiments, hypotheses, and methods.

Content of the Article

In order to determine the originality and suitability for the journal, are there any elements of plagiarism over 25% of this paper field? A quick literature search can use certain tools such as Scopus to see if there are similarities from other parts.

  1. If other authors had previously done the study, it is still eligible for publication?
  2. Is the article is relatively new, reasonably deep, and exciting to be published?
  3. Does it contribute to knowledge?
  4. Does the article adhere to the standards of the journal?
  5. Scope - Is the article in line with the objectives and scope of the journal?

Method
Comprehensive and perfect:

  1. Does the author accurately describe how the data is collected?
  2. Is the theoretical basis or reference used appropriately for this study?
  3. Is the exposure design suitable for the answer to the question?
  4. Is there decent enough information for you to imitate the research?
  5. Does the article identify the following procedures?
  6. Are there any new methods? If there is a new method, does the author explain it in detail?
  7. Is there any appropriate sampling?
  8. Have the tools and materials used been adequately explained? and
  9. Does the article exposure describe what type of data is recorded; right in describing the measurement?

Results:
It is where the author must explain the findings in his/her research. It should be laid out and in a logical sequence. You will need to consider whether the appropriate analysis has been carried out; the use of statistical tools? If you have a better analytical tool to be used in this study, notify it, and the interpretation need not be included in this section.

Discussion and Conclusion:

  1. Are the claims in this section is supported by the fair results and quite reasonable?
  2. Does the author compare the research results with other previous ones?
  3. Do the results of the research written in the article contradict the previous theories?
  4. Does the conclusion explain how better scientific research to be followed-up?

Tables and Pictures:

Is it suitable for the referred explanation by showing data that is easy to interpret and understandable for the readers?

Writing Styles

  1. Authors must be critical mostly to the systematic literature review of the issues, which is relevant to the field of study.
  2. Reviews should be focused on a single topic.
  3. All exposure should be in English and written in good and coherent grammar.
  4. Easy to understand
  5. Interesting to read

Things that need to be considered:

Perspective, a unique perspective that describes experiences and situations related to issues.

 Originality Research

  1. The original data and testing must present data that offers a new approach to improve systems, processes, and precision of the tools which are used.
  2. Research policy and observational analysis should clarify the feasibility, effectiveness, and implementation of the research results. 
  3. In Practice (case study), The paper should explain the situation regarding the future challenges and within its conclusions, or things which can be learned.

  2. If you want to discuss the article with a colleague, kindly inform the editor

    • Plagiarism: if you suspect the article is mostly plagiarism from other authors, please let the editor knows the details

    • Fraud: It is complicated to detect a fraud category, but if you suspect the results in the article is not valid, please inform the editor

    • Complete "The Review" by the due date to the editorial office. Your recommendation for the article will be considered when the editor makes a final decision, and your honest feedback is highly appreciated.

When you write a comment, please show the part of the criticism that is only intended for the editor and components that can be returned to the author. Please do not hesitate to contact the editorial office with any questions or problems that you may encounter

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Publication Ethics

It is the statement of ethics for the INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science. This statement was adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) GUIDELINES ON GOOD PUBLICATION PRACTICE and covered the code of ethics for chief editor, editorial board members, reviewers, and authors. Articles published in the INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge on education, and those are a direct reflection of the writer's and institutions' quality. It is, therefore, necessary to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the authors, the journal editors, the peer reviewers, the publisher, and the society.  Editors of the INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science is committed to guaranteeing that all procedures are directed merely to facilitate objective and intellectual treatment. Further, the editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or specific political and group interest. Software is used to avoid plagiarism among the articles.

Duties Of Authors

  1. Have the responsibility of ensuring only new and original work is submitted. (do not contain plagiarism)

  2. Must not reproduce work that has been previously published in other journals.

  3. Must not submit any articles that are being reviewed or considered by the journal to other journals simultaneously.

  4. Authors are only allowed to publish their work elsewhere after receiving a formal rejection from the journal or if the journal officially accepts their request to withdraw their paper.

  5. Must inform the Chief Editor or the publisher of any inaccuracy of data in their published work so that correction or retraction of the article can be done.

  6. Should make significant contributions and be held accountable for any shortcomings in their work.

 Duties Of Reviewers

  1. Must disclose any competing interest before agreeing to review a submission.

  2. Reviewers can refuse to review any submission due to a conflict of interest or inadequate knowledge.
  3. Review all submissions objectively, fairly, and professionally.

  4. Reveal any ethical misconduct encountered while reviewing to the Chief Editor for further action.

  5. Should ensure the originality of a submission and be alert to any plagiarism and redundant publication.

  6. Must not discuss the content of the submission without permission.
  7. Adhere to the time allocated for the review process. Requests for extension to review the submission is at the discretion of the Chief Editor.

Duties Of Editorial Board Members

  1. Actively contribute to the development and the greater good of the journal.

  2. Act as ambassadors for the journal.

  3. Continuously support and promote the journal.
  4. Review any work assigned to them.

Duties Of Chief Editor

  1. Evaluate manuscripts fairly and solely on their intellectual merit.

  2. Ensure confidentiality of manuscripts and not disclose any information regarding documents to anyone other than the people involved in the publishing process.
  3. Has the responsibility to decide when and which articles are to be published.
  4. Actively seek the views of board members, reviewers, and authors on how to improve/ increase the image and visibility of the journal.
  5. Give clear instructions to potential contributors to the submission process and what is expected of the authors.

Ensure appropriate reviewers are selected/ identified for the reviewing process.

Open Acess Policy

All articles published by the INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science are openly accessible on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports greater global knowledge exchange. It means:

  1. Every reader has free and unlimited access to the full-text of all articles published in INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science, and
  2. Every reader is free to re-use the published article if a proper citation of the original publication is given.

Plagiarism Policy

INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science board recognizes that plagiarism is not acceptable and therefore establishes the following policy stating specific actions (penalties) when plagiarism is identified in an article that is submitted for publication in the INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science. All the manuscripts will be subjected to pre-screening of plagiarism check by using Turnitin Software. The editor will conduct the screening process once the paper is received.

Definition: Plagiarism involves the "use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's original work."

Policy: Papers must be original, unpublished, and not pending publication elsewhere. Any material taken verbatim from another source needs to be identified as different from the present original text by (1) indentation, (2) use of quotation marks, and (3) identification of the source. Any document of an amount exceeding fair use standards (herein defined as more than two or three sentences or the equivalent thereof) or any graphic material reproduced from another source requires permission from the copyright holder and, if feasible, the original author(s) and also involves identification of the source; e.g., previous publication. When plagiarism is identified, the Editor Chief responsible for the review of this paper and will agree on measures according to the extent of plagiarism detected in the article in agreement with the following guidelines:

Level of Plagiarism

  1. Minor:

A short section of another article is plagiarized without any significant data or idea taken from the other paper

Action: A warning is given to the authors and a request to change the text and properly cite the original article is made

2.Intermediate:

A significant portion of a paper is plagiarized without proper citation to the initial paper

Action: The submitted article is rejected, and the authors are forbidden to submit further articles for one year

3. Severe :

A significant portion of a paper is plagiarized that involves reproducing original results or ideas presented in another publication

Action: The paper is rejected, and the authors are forbidden to submit further articles for five years.

It is understood that all authors are responsible for the content of their submitted paper as they all checked the INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science Checklist Form. If a penalty is imposed for plagiarism, all authors will be subject to the same punishment.

If the second case of plagiarism by the same author(s) is identified, a decision on the measures to be enforced will be made by the Editorial board (Editor-in-Chief and Editorial members) with the Chair of the Editor in Chief. The author(s) might be forbidden to submit further articles forever. This policy also applies to material reproduced from another publication by the same author(s). If an author uses text or figures that have previously been published, the corresponding paragraphs or data should be identified and the previous publication referenced. It is understood that in the case of a review paper or a paper of tutorial nature, much of the material was previously published.

The author should identify the source of the previously published material and obtain permission from the original author and the publisher. If an author submits a manuscript to INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science with significant overlap with a document submitted to another journal simultaneously, and this overlap is discovered during the review process or after the publications of both papers, the editor of the other journal is notified, and the case is treated as a severe plagiarism case. Significant overlap means the use of identical or almost identical figures and identical or slightly modified text for one half or more of the paper. For self-plagiarism of less than one half of the paper but more than one-tenth of the article, the case shall be treated as intermediate plagiarism. If self-plagiarism is confined to the methods section, the matter shall be considered as minor plagiarism.

If an author uses some of his previously published material to clarify the presentation of new results, the previously published article shall be identified, and the difference to the present publication shall be mentioned. Permission to republish must be obtained from the copyright holder. In the case of a manuscript that was originally published in conference proceedings and then is submitted for publication into INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science either in identical or in expanded form, the authors must identify the name of the conference proceedings and the date of the printing and obtain permission to republish from the copyright holder. The editor may decide not to accept this paper for publication.

However, an author shall be permitted to use material from an unpublished presentation, including visual displays, in a subsequent journal publication. In the case of a paper being submitted, that was originally published in another language, the title, date, and journal of the original publication must be identified by the authors, and the copyright must be obtained. The editor may accept such a translated release to bring it to the attention of a wider audience. The editor may select a specific paper that had been published (e.g., a "historic" paper) for republication to provide a better perspective of a series of articles published in one issue of to INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science. This republication shall be identified as such, and the date and journal of the original publication shall be given. The permission of the author(s) and the publisher shall be obtained.

The INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science layout editor for the journal is responsible for maintaining the list of authors subjected to penalties and will check that no authors of a submitted paper are on this list. If a banned author is identified, the layout editor will inform the Editor-in-Chief who will take appropriate measures. This policy will be posted on the website with the instructions for submitting a manuscript, and a copy will be sent to the authors with the confirmation email upon initial receipt of their original paper. A sentence shall be added to the copyright transfer form to indicate that the author(s) have read the Plagiarism Policy.

Authors Preparation

As part of the submission process, the author has asked to make sure every submission has followed the provisions made. Submissions can be returned to the author if they do not meet the conditions, as follows:

  1. Submitted manuscripts have never been published or accepted to publish in any journal

  2. Make sure that the text to be sent is not the product of plagiarism (see plagiarism policy page). Managing Editor, Language Editor, and Reviewers use Plagiarism Software Application for example Turnitin or Ithenticate to check all forms of plagiarism.

  3. The manuscript is typed in word format and must use the template provided INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science templates and send via online submissions, as many as 4,000-8,000 words

  4. The author has guided the writing guidelines (see Author Guidelines)

  5. The author uses the Reference Manager Software, for example, Mendeley or Zotero in compiling references used with the composition of primary libraries, at least 80 percent of all references published in the last ten years

  6. The script must write in English, and the author has checked the grammar using the Grammarly application

  7. The author agrees that the approved manuscript will publish in the INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science

Article Processing Charge

INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science publishes quality open access articles, allowing the scientific community and the public to gain free and immediate access and reuse the content freely with proper attribution. All articles accepted after peer-review are subjected US$ 0

There are no upon submission and rejected articles and no additional charges based on the length of an article, figures, or supplementary data. Editorial items (Editorials, Corrections, Additions, Retractions, Letters, Comments, etc.) are published free of charge.

INNOVATION: International Journal of Management Science publishes 2 issues every year (biannual) in January and July.
