Publishing System of Al-Maqrizi Journal

The publishing system of Al-Maqrizi: Jurnal Ekonomi Syariah dan Studi Islam is professionally managed by the Islamic Economics Study Program at Pamulang University through the Open Journal System (OJS) platform, accessible via the journal's official website. This system is designed to ensure quality, integrity, and timeliness of scientific publication through a series of standardized processes.

A. Submission System

The manuscript submission process is conducted online through the Al-Maqrizi Journal OJS system. Authors are required to register as users before they can submit a manuscript. During the submission process, authors are required to fulfill the Submission Preparation Checklist, which includes:

  • The manuscript has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration for publication in another journal.

  • The manuscript file is in MS Word, OpenOffice, RTF, or WordPerfect format.

  • The manuscript is written in 1.5-line spacing, using Times New Roman font size 12, on A4 paper with 2.5 cm margins.

  • The manuscript length is between 3,000–5,000 words or 5–12 pages.

  • References are managed using Mendeley with APA style, with a minimum of 13 references and a publication limit of the last 10 years.

  • The abstract is written in both Indonesian and English, with a maximum of 200 words in a single paragraph, accompanied by 3–5 keywords.

The prescribed writing structure includes: title, author name(s) and affiliation(s), abstract, introduction, research method, results and discussion, conclusion and suggestions, and references.

B. Peer Review Process

Al-Maqrizi Journal implements a strict Double-Blind Peer Review system to ensure the objectivity and scientific quality of every published manuscript. This process includes the following steps:

  1. Initial Screening: Every submitted manuscript will be checked for similarity (plagiarism check) using Turnitin software.

  2. Review by Reviewers: Each manuscript will be reviewed by 2 (two) competent reviewers in the relevant field.

  3. Double-Blind Anonymity: The double-blind process ensures that the author's identity is unknown to the reviewers, and vice versa.

  4. Assessment Criteria: Reviewers provide evaluations based on novelty, scientific impact, conclusions, and the references used.

C. Publication Ethics and Anti-Plagiarism Policy

Al-Maqrizi Journal is highly committed to publication ethics, adhering to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) standards. Several ethical principles applied include:

  • Originality: Authors are required to ensure that the submitted work is original and has not been previously published. If indications of plagiarism are found, the manuscript will be automatically rejected.

  • Prohibition of Multiple Submissions: Authors are not permitted to submit the same manuscript to another journal simultaneously (concurrent submission).

  • Confidentiality: Editors and reviewers are not permitted to disclose information about manuscripts under review to any other parties.

  • Non-Discrimination: Manuscript assessment is conducted based on scientific content, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political views of the authors.

D. Publication Workflow

The decision to publish a manuscript falls under the authority of the Chief Editor, taking into account input from other editors and reviewer recommendations. The publication workflow includes:

  1. Submission of the manuscript by the author.

  2. Editor check.

  3. Reviewer check.

  4. Layout check.

  5. Plagiarism check.

  6. Signing of copyright transfer and originality statement by the author.
