PERAN MEDIA SOSIAL TIKTOK DALAM MEMBANGUN SIKAP TOLERANSI

      This study aims to analyze the role of TikTok as a social media platform in
fostering students' attitudes of tolerance at SMA Negeri 1 Rumpin, Bogor Regency.
This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The research participants
consisted of the principal, a Civic Education (PPKn) teacher, and students selected
through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth
interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the interactive analysis
model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and
conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and
technique triangulation. The findings indicate that TikTok plays an important role in
fostering students' attitudes of tolerance through educational content promoting
diversity, mutual respect, appreciation of differences, and empathy toward others.
Exposure to positive content encourages students to become more open-minded and
respectful of differences in ethnicity, religion, culture, and opinions. On the other
hand, the study also found that content containing hate speech, discrimination, and
intolerance may negatively influence students who lack adequate digital literacy
skills. Therefore, the involvement of teachers, parents, and schools is essential in
providing guidance and strengthening students' digital literacy so that they can use
social media wisely, critically, and responsibly, thereby supporting the development
of tolerant attitudes in everyday life
