Abstract

This study aims to explore how digital leadership competencies among young leaders contribute
to enhancing employee engagement in hybridwork systems during the era of Artificial Intelligence
(AI) adoption. The research employs a qualitative approach using a Systematic Literature Review
(SLR) method by examining relevant national and international journal articles, industry reports,
and academic publications related to digital leadership, hybrid workforce management, employee
engagement, and organizational digital transformation. Data were collected through literature
searches from databases such as Scopus, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and Springer, with
inclusion criteria focusing on publications from 2020 to 2026. The data analysis technique applied
content analysis and thematic analysis to identify patterns, trends, and conceptual relationships
from previous studies. The findings reveal that young leaders who demonstrate technological
adaptability, digital communication skills, data-driven decision-making abilities, and flexibility in
managing hybrid work environments can significantly improve employee engagement.
Furthermore, AI implementation supported by effective digital leadership has been shown to
foster productivity, innovation, and organizational sustainability. This study concludes that digital
leadership is a critical competency for young leaders in addressing future workplace challenges
in an increasingly dynamic and technology-driven environment.
